7 Days Classic Tanzania Wildlife Safari
Overview
The northern circuit holds several of the best-known safari areas in Tanzania, and this 7 Days Classic Tanzania Wildlife Safari visits them in turn: Tarangire National Park with its elephants, the endless plains of the Serengeti, the dramatic wildlife refuge of Ngorongoro Crater and the scenery of Lake Manyara.
We planned it for travellers who want the whole Tanzania safari experience at a sensible pace. Look forward to game drives, beautiful country, big cats, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests and birds, and a strong chance of seeing the Big Five. Tanzania’s official tourism site presents Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Serengeti as iconic wildlife regions: Tarangire for its elephant herds, Serengeti for the Great Migration and the variety of its wildlife.

Itinerary
You arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport. Your guide welcomes you and takes you to your hotel in Arusha.
If you get in early, rest at the hotel or take a short optional walk around town.
After breakfast you leave for Tarangire National Park, among the best places in Tanzania to see big herds of elephants. The park is also known for its baobab trees, open savannah, seasonal swamps and abundant wildlife.
On your game drive you may see elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes and antelopes, and predators such as lions and leopards.
Later you drive to your lodge or tented camp for dinner and the night.
After breakfast you drive through scenic highlands towards Serengeti National Park.
The Serengeti is one of the most famous safari areas in Africa, known for its immense plains, its predators and the Great Migration. You have a game drive as you enter the park and make your way to camp.
You arrive in the evening for dinner and the night.
The whole day is spent exploring the Serengeti.
Your guide chooses the route according to the season and where the animals are. Lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, hippos, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles and many birds may all be seen.
Lunch is a picnic in the park, or you go back to camp to eat and head out again in the afternoon.
You start with a game drive early in the morning, when Serengeti wildlife tends to be more active.
After breakfast you leave for the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, watching for game as you go. The road has lovely views of open plains, highlands and traditional communities.
You arrive near the crater rim or in Karatu for dinner and the night.
After an early breakfast you drive down into Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive.
The crater is one of the most rewarding wildlife areas in Tanzania, with a great many animals gathered in a dramatic natural setting. You have chances of elephants, buffaloes, zebras, wildebeests, hippos, hyenas and lions, and with luck the rare black rhino.
You eat a picnic lunch inside the crater and then drive back to your lodge.
After breakfast you drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a last game drive.
The park lies beneath the escarpment of the Great Rift Valley and is known for its range of habitats: forest, floodplain, open grassland and the lake itself. Elephants, birds, hippos, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife are found here.
After the drive you return to Arusha, where we drop you at your hotel or take you to the airport for your onward flight.
