2 Days Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda
Overview
You want to see Rwanda's mountain gorillas, and your diary is full. This 2 Days Gorilla Trekking In Rwanda trip was made for you. It takes you to Volcanoes National Park to track the gorillas, and it is short enough to fit into a weekend.
Highlights
- Gorilla trekking
- Kigali genocide memorial center
Itinerary
We meet you at the airport or collect you from your hotel and brief you on the trip. Then comes the scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, one of very few parks in the world where you can meet these gentle giants.
Heading north, the road winds through the terraced hills that are so typical of Rwanda and climbs steadily to the foot of the great volcanoes. On a clear day you may count as many as five peaks.
After an early breakfast your guide drives you to the start of the gorilla trek, subject to permit availability at the time of booking. Walking through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas in search of gorillas is a magical thing to do.
With luck you reach the gorillas quickly, spend your hour with them and are back at base for a late lunch. Some families are harder to find, though, and tracking them can fill the whole day, particularly in wet and muddy conditions.
After a hot lunch you drive back to Kigali in the afternoon and arrive in the evening.
