Why Choose This Safari?

This itinerary is designed for tourists who want to experience the best of Uganda without making the trip unnecessarily expensive. Rather than focusing only on the major attractions, it combines wildlife, primates, landscapes, and community encounters into one carefully connected journey.

Arrival in Uganda – Welcome to Entebbe

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, your professional safari guide will meet and welcome you. After introductions and a short safari briefing, you will be transferred to your hotel for relaxation and an overnight stay.

Depending on your arrival time, you may have an opportunity to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of Entebbe or take a short walk around the area.

Overnight: 2 Friends Beach Hotel

Meal Plan: Dinner

Entebbe – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary – Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, begin your journey northwards toward Murchison Falls National Park.

Your first major stop is Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Uganda’s home for southern white rhinos. Accompanied by a ranger, you’ll walk through the sanctuary in search of these magnificent animals while learning about Uganda’s rhino conservation efforts.

After lunch, continue toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park. The journey itself becomes part of the adventure as the landscape changes from countryside and villages to vast savannah.

Arrive at your lodge in the evening and relax.

Overnight: Murchison River/Pakuba Safari Lodge.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Murchison Falls – Game Drive, Falls Hike & Private Nile Cruise

A Full Day of Wildlife & the Mighty Nile

Rise early for a morning game drive across the northern sector of Murchison Falls National Park. With the early morning temperatures still cool, this is an excellent time to search for elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, antelopes, lions, and other wildlife.

After breakfast, head toward the dramatic top of Murchison Falls. Take a short hike to viewpoints where the mighty Nile is forced through a narrow gorge before plunging into the valley below.

In the afternoon, enjoy an exclusive private boat cruise on the Victoria Nile. Cruise toward the base of the falls while watching hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and numerous bird species along the riverbanks. Return to your lodge for a relaxed evening.

Overnight: Murchison River Lodge/Pakuba Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Murchison Falls – Local Community Experience – Kibale Forest

From Savannah to the Primate Capital. After breakfast, spend part of the morning experiencing authentic local life through a community visit.

Interact with local residents, and learn about traditional livelihoods, agriculture, food, crafts and everyday life. This gives you a different perspective of Uganda beyond its national parks.

Later, begin the scenic journey southwest toward Kibale Forest National Park, passing through changing landscapes, tea plantations, and rural communities.

Arrive in Kibale in the evening and settle into your lodge.

Overnight: Kibale Forest Camp/Turaco Tree Tops

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Chimpanzee Tracking – Queen Elizabeth – Kazinga Channel Cruise

Chimpanzees, Savannah & the Kazinga Channel. After an early breakfast, enter the ancient rainforest of Kibale National Park for your chimpanzee tracking adventure.

Listen for the calls of the forest as you trek through the lush vegetation in search of habituated chimpanzee communities. Along the way, your ranger will help you identify other primates, birds, and fascinating forest species.

After the trek, depart for Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon or early evening boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel. This natural channel connects Lakes Edward and George and is famous for its remarkable concentration of wildlife. Watch hippos packed into the water, crocodiles along the banks, elephants coming to drink, and hundreds of waterbirds.

Overnight: The Bush Lodge/Pumba Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Queen Elizabeth Game Drive – Ishasha Tree-Climbing Lions – Bwindi

Start the morning with a game drive through Queen Elizabeth National Park, searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda Kob and other wildlife.

Later, drive south toward the remote Ishasha sector, one of Uganda’s most fascinating wildlife areas.

Keep your eyes on the fig and acacia trees — Ishasha is famous for its tree-climbing lions, often found resting high above the ground.

After your wildlife experience, continue toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Arrive at your lodge and prepare for the following day’s extraordinary encounter.

Overnight: Agandi Safari Lodge/Rushaga Gorilla Safari Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi – Batwa Cultural Experience

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your gorilla trekking adventure. Trekking through Bwindi’s dense rainforest can take several hours depending on the location of your assigned gorilla family. The journey itself is rewarding, with ancient trees, birds, butterflies, and the sounds of the forest surrounding you.

Then comes the unforgettable moment of finding a family of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat.

Spend your permitted time observing them as they feed, play, groom, and interact with one another. Few wildlife experiences in Africa can compare with being just a short distance from these gentle giants.

Return to your lodge after the trek for lunch and relaxation. Afternoon: Batwa Cultural Experience

Later, meet members of the Batwa community and discover their traditional relationship with the forest. Through storytelling, music, dance, and demonstrations, learn about their heritage and way of life.

Overnight: Agandi Safari Lodge/Rushaga Gorilla Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Bwindi – Departure via Kigali or Entebbe
